Meet Janell

Hello! I am thrilled to be working as a School Psychologist/Mental Health Counselor Intern, and I’m excited to share a bit about myself.
I recently graduated from Mercy College with a master’s degree in Bilingual School Psychology with distinction. During my time in an extended school year program, I learned invaluable lessons about the importance of compassion and patience when working with students, and I discovered how essential these qualities are in my role as both a psychologist and counselor. As a strong advocate for self-care, I make time to recharge by reading, learning, spending quality time with family and friends, and traveling. Currently, I am pursuing my third master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling through Alfred University.
I firmly believe that the strong connections I build with my clients help them unlock their potential and thrive. My practice is built on the principle that mistakes are an opportunity for growth, and my office is a space where clients can feel comfortable and supported. Through social-emotional support, comprehensive evaluations, evidence-based counseling techniques, and behavior intervention plans, I collaborate with clients, supervisors, and parents to address their social-emotional needs and help them navigate life’s challenges.

My Role Includes:
-
Conducting initial and triennial evaluations, including cognitive, academic, and social/emotional/behavioral assessments
-
Providing individual counseling services
-
Offering parent and client consultations
-
Supporting intervention implementation to address students' unique needs

I’m excited to continue growing in this field and to support the emotional and academic success of students!
